Roy Steve Newburn, Sr., 65, passed away Saturday, May 14, 2022, at George County Hospital. Steve was born May 08, 1957, to Ruby Lee Stevens and Roy Joseph Newburn, in Citronelle, Alabama. Steve's greatest joy in life was spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Steve always had a joke. To know him was to love him.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Marlene Newburn; his mom and step-father, Ruby Lee Womack and Murel Womack; his grandparents, Roy and Lillie Newburn, and Mack and Lula Stevens; and brother, Terry Lee Newburn.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his father and step-mom, Roy Joseph and Jewel Newburn; three sons, Stevie Newburn (Leslie) of George County, Christopher Newburn (Becky) of Hurley, and Brent Newburn of Mobile; one daughter, Amy Leann Charlene Newburn of Gautier; two brothers, Mack Newburn (Mary Ann) of Lucedale, and Ronnie Newburn of Atmore; three sisters, Alice Douglas (John) of Gautier, Kathryn Crager (Donald Wayne) of Chatom, and Lillie Watkins (DaJuan) of Citronelle; two step-sisters, Shirley Jewel Ikner and Linda Kay Wiggins; one step-brother, James C. Duke; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; several adopted grandchildren; other relatives; and friends.

The family will receive friends from 9am until the 10am funeral service Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at Freeman Funeral Home with Rev. Steven Jones officiating.
