Amelia Posey Pierce, a resident of Mt. Vernon, Alabama, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 18, 2021, at her home. She was born on May 6, 1934, and was 87 years old. Amelia enjoyed hosting neighbors and friends in her home and having a good time; she was known for her generosity to others. She attended St. Cecelia Catholic Church in Mt. Vernon, Alabama.

Amelia was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde T. Posey and Esther Jones Posey; her husband Carl Pierce; her son Frank Pierce; her infant daughter Claudia Vines; and her sister Lola Posey Hedrick.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son William E. Vines, Jr. and his wife Cindy; her brother-in-law Vernon Hedrick; her nephews Mike Hedrick and his wife Linda, Casey Steel and his wife Cheryl, and Jason Steel and his wife Liza; her niece Debbie Brown; and other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Thursday May 20, 2021, at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, in Mt. Vernon, Alabama, followed by a graveside service in St. Cecelia Catholic Church Cemetery. Graveside service will be conducted by Father John Coghlan.

A very special thank you is given to the Miracle, Cynthia, and Vincent Langham family; Ronald Seabury; Beth Jones; Nancy Chestang; and Alisha Golden and Candice Bevins (SAAD Hospice) for their loving care; to Gale Seabury and Kathy Jordan forthe incredible support they provided toAmelia; and to Father John Coghlan for his kindness and spiritual comfort at this time.
