I served in the Navy.
Stanley Irving Schaefer, a resident of Yellow Pine, Alabama, passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2022, in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was 65 years old. Stan was a proud veteran of The United States Navy. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Stan enjoyed being with his children and grandchildren. He retired from Cray Valley after 37 years of employment.

He is preceded in death by, father, Harry Schaefer; mother, Cecelia Ketchum; and loving daughter in law, Miranda Schaefer.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Candy Schaefer; daughters, Misty Weaver (Chris), Jessica Moss (Darron), and Shae Reed (Cliff); sons, Michael Chafin (Keri), Justin Schaefer (Anna), and Clayton Schaefer (Felicia); 28 Grandchildren; Special Cousin, Benny Luker; and other relatives and friends.

A wake will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2022, from 7:00pm to 9:00pm at Freeman Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Sunday, August 28, 2022, at 2:00pm at Freeman Funeral Home. Burial in Yellow Pine Cemetery to follow. Pallbearers include Chris Weaver, Austin Younge, Hunter Garland, Terry ''Bones'' Dykes, Darren Moss, and Cody Tolbert. Honorary Pallbearers include Steve McKinnis, Ted Hazen, Jackson Reeves, Marty Joe Waldrup, Troy McDonald, Benny Luker, Phillip Younge, Dillon Morgan, Larry Garland, and Mark Stoker.
