Shirley Yvonne Russell, a native of Leakesville, Mississippi, and a resident of Byram, Mississippi, passed away peacefully at her home Sunday, June 05, 2021. She was 84 years old. Shirley was born August 22, 1936, to the late James Henry and Virgie Lee Dueitt of Leakesville. She received her RN degree and worked as a nurse until she retired. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, James Paul Russell, Jr.; son, Charles Nicholas Brewer; sisters, Eunice L. Balius, Linda G. Holliman, and Henrietta Miller; and brother, John Henry Dueitt. Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Kevin P. Maddox (Angie), and Janet A. Russell Self (Chris); daughter-in-law, Brenda Brewer; grandchildren, Craig Brewer, Kyle Brewer, Justin Joy, and Austin Joy; great grandchildren, Landon, Logan, Jack, Anna, Jack B., Collins and McLain; Numerous nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 1pm until the 2pm funeral service Friday, June 11, 2021, at The First United Pentecostal Church of Leakesville with Rev. Irvis D. Everette officiating.     We had so many good times, I wouldn’t even try to write about them, I would leave something out for sure. Shirley was the one we all went to with good or bad news. She always knew what to say. I loved her so much, she was like a mother or sister to me. I will miss you.
