She is preceded in death by her parents, R.L. and Mary Perkins; and her husband, Evan Allison Derby, Sr.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son, E. Allison Derby, Jr. (Renee); daughter, Virginia Grimes (Ben); grandson, Al Derby (Paige); granddaughter, Kate Elmore (Chase); great-grandchildren, May, Maggie, Evan, Grady, and Wells; nieces, Elizabeth Bennette (Leon) and Virginia Scott (Jim); cousins, Marilyn Moreau (David) and Dr. Gordon Thompson (Lori); sister-in-law, Patsy Chaney; other relatives; and friends.
A private family service will be held for Virginia at 11:00 AM Monday, February 6, 2023, at Saint James Episcopal Church in Livingston, Alabama, with The Rev. Richard R. Losch officiating. A 12:30 PM graveside service will follow in Derby Family Cemetery in Ward, Alabama. Pallbearers include Allison Derby, Al Derby, Chase Elmore, Dr. Gordon Thompson, Hiram Patrenos, and Val Montgomery.
