Katie. I am saddened go hear of Hilda's passing. I remember you both fondly from our grammar school days in Mt. Vernon. I cherish the warm welcome you gave me when I stopped in unexpectedly as I was passing through Mt. Vernon a couple of years ago. I am sending you my deep sympathy and wishes for God's blessings and miracles. Sincerely. Freda Woodyard Blackwell.

I will always remember how sweet she was at the bank and else where. I will always remember she and Katie as sweet sisters.
  3. Faye Green Lee
Hilda was a childhood friend of mine. She joined our class in Mt. Vernon Elementary School and was well thought of by all our classmates. We graduated from Citronelle High School together in 1961. I will always remember Hilda as a sweet, pleasant person and I don’t recall her ever speaking ill will of anyone. I think she was truly a fine example of a God fearing lady. She will be missed. My condolences to her family.
