Winfred Owen Helton, Sr., a resident of Georgetown, Alabama, passed away Tuesday, April 13, 2021. He was 87 years old. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who enjoyed the outdoors. He was involved in numerous charities throughout his life, but most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his late wife. Winfred was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Winfred was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, June Crabtree Helton; his mom and dad, and his siblings. Those left to cherish his memory include his sons, Winfred Owen “Bubba” Helton, Jr. (Sheila) and Gregory W. Helton (Tracey); grandchildren, Tyler, Zack, Easton, and Wyatt; great granddaughters, Alyssa and Addison; and other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 10am until 10:30am Monday, April 19, 2021, at Freeman Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 11am Monday, April 19, 2021, at Georgetown Methodist Cemetery with Rev. Dino Danzey officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Camp Whispering Pines.     Bubba and Sheila, Please accept our most heartfelt condolences for the passing of pop pop...I only met your dad a few times but he was one of the funniest people I new and his stories were always great....He made the golf tournament a blast when he was able to make it.
