Grover Richard “Nute” Byrd, a resident of Mount Vernon, Alabama, passed away Thursday, April 08, 2021. He was 41 years old. He loved fishing and watching Alabama Football, and would always go out of his way to help people. He loved his family, especially his children. Nute was loved by many and will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Leonard and Jessie Mae Byrd, and Maxine and Rudolph Byrd; cousins, Albert Lee “Lil Albert” Byrd, II, Lacy Byrd, Grant Conrad Byrd, and Courtney Victoria Byrd; and special friend, Edward Rivers, Jr. He leaves behind a wife, Destiny. Others left to cherish his memory include his children, Gabrielle, Jamison, Marissa, Jessidy, and Andrew; parents, Grover and Carol Byrd; second parents, Barbara and Charles "Ed" Byrd; siblings, Rusty Byrd (Denise), Susan Weaver (Spencer), Billy “Pete” Byrd (Deanna), Victor Byrd (Lacon), Charles “CJ” Byrd, Jr. (Heather), and Andrew Byrd (Kristin); special friend, Spencer Byrd, Jr.; and many other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 9am until the 11am funeral service Saturday, April 17, 2021, at Aldersgate United Methodist Church with Rev. Dunford Cole and Rev. Charles Byrd, Jr. officiating. Friday, April 16, 2021 I pray I get through this today... I pray you come to each of your love ones and give them peace with this. I want forget your birthday last year when I had your party while you were still here with us i want forget who was there and who wasnt your words were this was my best birthday ever.. I pray this nightmare will be over soon and you and I will be together again. You were the love of my life and I know you loved me and nobody can take that away from us.
