Tempress Reed Fields
November 28, 1935 - June 18, 2022

Tempress Reed Fields, was a lifelong resident of McIntosh, Alabama and Stone Mountain, Georgia.

Tempress was born the fourth child of Elliott and Nancy Reed on November 28, 1935. Died June 18, 2022.

After graduating from Reed's Chapel High School she went on to graduate from Wayland Baptist College (now Wayland Baptist University) in Plainview, Texas.

She returned to her home community where she became an educator at the same school she had attended and went on to dedicate over 35 years of her life to teaching the local MOWA Choctaw tribal children and others in the area, and where she later retired.

She then went on to have a second career where she worked for the McIntosh Water Board for several years and made many lifelong friends while there.

She was a faithful member of Reed's Chapel Baptist Church her entire life until she went to live with her daughter in Atlanta in 2014.

Tempress was preceded in death by her husband, Jeremiah Fields; son, Olan Kirk Fields; mother, Nancy Reed; father, Elliott Reed; sisters, Azlean Reed and Pearlie Mae Byrd; brothers, Wallace Reed, Early Reed, Jr. and Donnell Reed.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Darla Fields Graves (Charles), Francis Fields (Wendi), and Danielle Byrd-Styles; grandchildren, Haley Fields, Jordan Fields, Collin Fields (Allison), Drew Fields, and Zachary Pickle; great grandchildren: Levi Dickey, Kenadee Fields, Emerson Fields and Julian Fields; siblings, Lucile Weaver, Nola Williams, and Magnolia Edwards; numerous nieces, nephews; and other relatives and friends.

Tempress loved her students, fellow-teachers, church members and friends. She had a great love for music until the end and is probably singing in Heaven's Choir as we celebrate her life here on earth.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 21, 2022 from 1:00 pm until the 2:00 pm funeral service at Reed's Chapel Baptist Church in McIntosh, Alabama, with Rev. Chad Orso officiating.
